Indonesia Indonesia:
Fromf the Keli Mutu to the Bromo - Sulawesi, Nias

More than 13,600 islands belong to Indonesia, under it 7.000 which do not have a name. 90 % of the population are Muslims. On Bali the hinduism is being practiced.

Main means of transport of our journey is the ship. From Lombok it goes first to Sulawesi, into the country of the Torajas and their dead cult. From Sulawesi it goes far to Flores to the Keli Mutu and by bus and boat over Komodo, Sumbawa, Lombok and Bali to the Bromo volcano on Java.

For the Torajas in the centre of Sulawesi the soul of a dead is only released from the terrestrial existence after a victim celebration. The size of this celebration and the number of killed water buffalos depend on the social status of the deceased. Often the families applied years after the death the means needed for it.

The Keli Mutu in the east of Flores is a crater with 3 lakes of different colouring. On Komodo are living the giant lizards in free country space. They nourish themselves of deer and wild horses. It is paradoxical, but here the humans are behind lattices and are observed by the lizards.

In the north of Lombok we are invited from the 3 the Gili coral islands for bathing and snorkelling. The volcano Rinjani with 3726 meters is the highest point of the island. The south coast reminds a little of the Algarve in Portugal.

On Bali the Hinduismus is exercised in pure form. In the evening religious dances and performances from the hinduistique epic Mahabharta takes place. The fire dance is a part of these performances. Ubud is the centre of the painting on Bali. The Batur volcano rises from an enormous crater with a lake inside.
The most spectacular volcano however is the Bromo in East Java. Inside from an enormous crater rises the Bromo 2.300 and the Batur 2.600 as well in the background the Semeru with 3.600 meters.

In the south of the island Nias situated at the west coast of Sumatra is the Lagundi Beach. Surfer from all over the world ride up the 6 meters high waves. In Bawamataluo nearby the beach one feels in another world. One believes itself in touch with a gone down stone-temporal advanced culture.
