Colombia Cameroon:
From the Chad lake to the gulf of Guinea

In Cameroon one experiences the black continent like a focus, because almost the whole variety of landscapes, population, culture, animal and plant live that offers Africa is possible to find here. For this reason Cameroon carries also the surname "Africa in the small".

For a round trip like it is described here it is worthwhile to fly from Paris in 6 hours after Garoua in the north of the country, and from Douala in the south back again.

The Islamic north is in contrast to the sumptuous vegetation of the south the country of the desert. There are three larger cities in the north, which are connected by roads. For remaining journeys a borrowing car is recommended, in particular after Roumsiki and into the national parks. From Ngondéré one reaches the capital Yaounde by train.

At the border to Nigeria the Mandara mountains extends with unequal stone formations and moon landscapes from eroded volcanic chimneys. The population lives here in round hut villages surrounded by loam walls. In the Waza and Bénoué national park one finds nearly all animals of the desert of Africa.

The Lamido forms the highest hierarchy in the Muslim society of the north and is the religious head.

At the white palm beaches of Kribi, in the Christian south of the country, the rain forest meets the gulf of Guinea. Trips into the tropical rain forest and to the Lobé waterfalls are possible.

Soccer is the national sport of the people of Cameroon and photos of international players and clubs are precious gifts.
