Morocco: King cities and the road of the Kasbahs Hardly a country in Africa is as varied as Morocco. Three large mountains pull the country through. The Middle Atlas, the High Atlas with snow-covered 4000 meters mountains (Djebel Toubkal 4167, Ighil Mgoun 4071) and the wild landscape of the Anti Atlas. One can cross the high Atlas over the routes of Tizi n'Test and Tizi n'Tichka. Besides there are still 3 interesting canyons in this mountains: the Dades, - Todra, - and Ziz canyon. The road of the Kasbahs extends south the High Atlas between Er Rachidia and Ouarzazate and offers the possibility to explore the desert regions of Zagora and Erfoud - Merzouga. Actual attraction are however the castles, so called Kasbahs. This landscape and its castles are became famous by movies such as Lawrence of Arabia (Ait Benhaddou). The king cities Rabat, Meknes, Fes and Marrakesch, whose name tightens also today still magically, gives us with their architecture and their multicolored life in Medinas and Souks cultural high points. Besides these cities there are also modern places such as Casablanca and Agadir. Agadir is a new popular modern resort in the south of the country, who was build in the 60's after an earthquake. Its opposite Essaouira is a beach and surf destination with a old town builted in the 18 th century. In the following I give a listing to my travel route (2700 km) with indication of the touristic objects of interest. Casablanca: largest city in Morocco with Hassan II mosque, the third biggest in the world and with the highest minarett. Rabat: Capital, Kasbah of the Oudaias, Bab Oudaia, Andalusian gardens, Hassan tower, Mohammed V Mausoleum. Meknes: Bou Inania Medersa, Bab Mansour, Mausoleum Moulay Ismail Fes: Bab Boujeloud, Medersa Bou Inania, Attarine Medersa, Nejjarine spring, tennery Er Rachidia to Ouazazate: road of the Kasbahs, from Fes over the Ziz canyon to Er Rachidia and from Ouazazate to Marrakesch over the Tizi n'Tichka. Skoura Kasbahs, Taourirt Kasbah, Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, Tinerhir oases.
