Paris
There are many words about Paris such as visit Paris and die…..or Paris the city of love…... The city is richly to culture and history and can be explored best way by metro and on foot.
In the following I would like to focus some objects of interest.
Arc de Triomphe
Build 1806 to 1836 of Napoleon I. It is 50 m high and 45 m broad. Its total weight amounts to 100,000 tons. From above one has a beautiful view of Champs-Elysees up to the Place de La Concord and the other direction to the new quarter la Defense with the Arc de Defense.
Tour Eiffel
The Tour Eiffel was inaugurated 1889 and should be originally established only for the world exhibition. Its height amounts to 318 meters and it weight 10,100 tons. 18000 metal parts had to be bolted for its establishment.
Sainte Chapelle
The Sainte Chapelle was built between 1242-1248 and is the oldest church on the Ile de France. It served above all to take up christian relics such as the thorn crown of Christi.
Further churches who are worth a visit: Notre Dame and Sacre Coeur.
Paris have in addition over 100 museums. Only two are here mentioned. The Louvre places art up to the year 1900 and in the Centre Pompidou one finds the art starting from 1900.
