By a rack railway the Gornergrat on 3089 meters can be reached from Zermatt. The skiing area offers views on 29 mountains above 4000 meters. Travel time of the mountain regions is the whole year. By car and train can be reached the tourist places. Some places are closed for private cars. Local railways operate every 20 to 30 minutes. At the railway stations parking possibilities exist.
