Thailand #2: Along the west coast from Trang to Phang Nga The west coast from Thailand is one of the most beautiful coasts in the world. It is known for example by the films “The Beach” (Leonardo di Caprio) or “The man with the golden gun” (Sean Connery). In December 2004 this part of Thailand was affected by an Tsunami wave. But today it will be found almost non destruction. The journey starts by plane from Bangkok to Trang, an alternative to the journey to Krabi or Phuket. From Trang we drive to the island of Ko Lanta Yai. From the north to the south there are plenty of beaches such as Khlong Dao, Long Beach, Klong Khong Beach, Klong Nin Beach and deep in the south Had Kantiang, Klong Jak Bay and Bamboo Bay. By boat from Ban Saladan we reach in 2 hours the islands of Ko Phi Phi and Ko Phi Phi Le. Ko Phi Phi consists in the 2 islands Ko Nai and Ko Nok who are linked by a small promontory. The 2 bays with its superb beaches are called Ton Sai Bay and Lo Dalam Bay. There are more beaches with a sight to Phi Phi Le such as Hin Khom Beach and Long Beach. At the east coast is the Ran Ti Bay, Lo Ba Kao Bay and the Lo Nah Bay. From Phi Phi you can arrange journeys to the Maya Bay and Lohsamah Bay from Phi Phi Le and to the Bamboo Island and Yoo Island. With another 2 hours journey we reach Krabi. From here we can get to the unique Pra Nang Beach. The beaches from Phra Nang Rai Leh East, Rai Leh West and Ao Ton Sai are accessible by small boats. From here and the Ao Nang Beach you can make different tours. The 4 island tour goes to the Chicken Island, Ko Poda, Ko Tub and the Yawasam Island. The 5 island tour goes to Hong Island, Pakbia Island and Lading Island. With bus and boat you reach in 2 hours from Krabi the Bay from Phang Nga. On the way to the James Bond island (Ko Tapu) you pass the fishing village of Ko Panyi.   >> regard photos          >> info main-page
