the Czech Republic:
Rock areas in North Bohemia, East Bohemia, the capital Prague
There are different erosion landscapes in the border areas of the Czech republic with Germany and Poland. From the west to east: The walls of Thyssa (Tiské steny), the area around Hrensko (Pravchiká brána); Malá Skála, Hrubá Skála, Prachovske skály in the national park Cesky Raj as well as the Adersbacher rock area (Adrspassko skály).
Pravchiká brána is the largest natural rock gate in Europe. The rock gate can be achieved by Hrensko walking through the Edmund canyon (Edmundsklamm) and the silence canyon.
Panská skála is the largest natural basalt rock in Europe. It is not far from Kamenický Senov.
The national park Ceský Ráj, the Bohemian paradies, is near the cities Turnov and Jicín. The rock areas Hrubá Skála and Prachovské skály can be explored. The castles of Zámek Hrubá Skála, Hrad Valdstejn, Hrad Trosky and Hrad Kost are likewise in the area. A beautiful place below the Suché skály is Malá Skála
In East Bohemia nearby the border to Poland are the largest rock areas, the Adrspassko skály.
Prague, the capital of the country is with its situation to the Moldau one of the most beautiful cities of Europe. Here innumerable films were therefore turned: Amadeus, mission Impossible and also a James bond. From history I would like to emphasize only 2 events. The Prague fall from the window led to one of the worst wars in the history of Europe (1618-1648),. The occupation of the German embassy 1989 by departure-willing GDR citizen can be seen as beginning of the falling of Berlin wall. Innumerable city walks are possible: the kings way, the Malá Strana, Hradschin and Josefov are the most popular tourist goals.
