World climate conference

To no considerable result led the world climate conference in the city of "good air". Victims reported the devastating consequences of the earth-warming. The consequences above all hits the poor people like the farmers in India in the delta of the Ganges river, the inhabitants of Bangladesh or the inhabitants of the South Seas Islands. But also the countries who produces most of the greenhouse gases like the USA and China are forced more and more by weather catastrophes.


The Nobel peace prize, Nuclear Free Future Award

The Kenyan environmentalist Wangari Maathai received the Nobel peace prize as the first African woman at all. 1977 started Mrs. Maathai an initiative for the reforestation of Kenya.

The nuclear physician Durakovic received the anti atom price for his fight against radioactively loaded ammunition used in the Iraq war. He is the inventor of the word "Gulf War Syndrome".


World-wide
Anti-corruption day on 09 December

The UN convention against corruption was signed so far only by 12 states. Straight political parties stand world-wide at the strongest suspicion to be corrupt. The convention, which was not signed by Germany so far, can enter into force only if 30 States will sign it.


South Baden
Renewable energies

New ways of the power production are planned in South Baden. The Icelandic company Enex wants to provide a power station near Kehl for the use of the terrestrial heat. Also the city Ettenheim starts such a project. On the airport of Lahr the planning for a solar park goes further.
