 World development report United Nations
The so-called human development index of the United Nations is calculated particularly over the per capacity income, the life expectancy, the education conditions and the equal rights of man and woman. The land list results that Norway is on the first, the USA on 8, Switzerland 11, France 16 and Germany and Spain on rank 19.
At the same time it becomes clear that in many countries life for humans is more difficult. Many so called targets of millennium regarding the fight against poverty, illness and illiteracy cannot be achieved. Particularly in the southern Africa the index is the smallest by poverty and AIDS propagation.

Offenburg - Lahr - Madagascar - Costa Rica
Road celebration - city partnership
In Offenburg the world shop rain drop organized again a road celebration. Proceeds go toward to the association Zaza Faly, which organizes aid projects in Madagascar.
Lahr has again attendance of an ambassador from Costa Rica. A goal is to be lock a partnership between the cities Alajuela and Lahr. Bernd Niehaus the ambassadors explained at his attendance that Costa Rica is the oldest democracy in Central America which has no more army. The mayor of Lahr Mueller stressed that the past partnerships between the cities of Dole in France and Belleville in Canada have been established in the indication of the reconciliation but the future partnership with Costa Rica will it be in the indication of the culture.

In China were appointed new world culture inheriting by the UNESCO. In addition count: the region Cabo in South Africa, the ice fjord Ilulissat in Greenland, the nature area of the island Wrangel in Russia, the tropical forests of Sumatra, the ruins of Kilwa Kisiwani and Songo Muara in Tanzania, the archaeological witnesses of the Iranian city Bam as well as the volcanoes Pitones on the Caribik island Santa Lucia.

Liberty statue of Augusts Bartholdi
Everybody knows the original 46 meters high liberty statue of New York. This was a gift of France to the United States of America in the year 1886. Their creator, Auguste Bartholdi, celebrates on 04 July his 100 day of death. To his honour was inaugurated a 14 meter high dupe of the liberty statue. Bartholdi was born in Colmar in the year 1834.
