The first European vote after the extension of the European Union with 10 nations brought different results. The election turnout in the new countries lays with 26 % substantially under that of the old countries with 50%. In many countries the existing governments have been punished. Also the European critical parties received inlet.
The European parliament in Strasbourg and Brussels is concerned particularly with consumer and environmental protection questions. Its influence on the legislation is limited and for the people thus far away. Therefore it is now more import to reach a agreement in the constitution process for Europe.

Energy conference "renewables 2004" - Bonn
From the energy conference in Bonn proceeds a world-wide departure signal. Delegations from 103 states met in Bonn to get going around world-wide the renewable energy. The crucial advantage of the new energies is the independence from the oil and atomic industry and thus from the at present clearly noticeable price adjustments. A further aspect is the immunity against the terrorism by decentralized production and distribution.
